His & Hers Palomas

His & Hers Palomas

Typically, I would save this refreshing, grapefruit margarita recipe for summer.  But given the current situation, I had a few grapefruits leftover from Easter that I didn't want to spoil.  I did offer this recipe a few weeks ago as a "3 ingredient" grapefruit cocktail.  Since then, the wife and I have gone back and played around with the original recipe and came up with 2 new options.  These will require more than 3 ingredients and aren't as sweet.  I highly recommend that you taste your grapefruit juice first, before preparing your cocktails.  If they're very sweet, you may want to add more lime juice and if they're tart, then more Grand Marnier is required.

Before we get started I want to point out that these cocktails are made in 2 different ways. Some recipes will have you use a combination of fresh grapefruit juice and club soda (our preferred method).  Others will have you use a grapefruit soda which I'm not a fan of.  But if it's all you have in the fridge, by all means, use what you got!

His Ingredients
2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
1.5 oz silver tequila
.5 oz fresh lime juice
.25 oz Grand Marnier
1-2 oz Club Soda (to taste)
Margarita/kosher salt

Wet rim of a double rocks glass/highball with a little lime juice or water and dip into salt.  Fill glass with ice.  Pour in the grapefruit & lime juice, tequila and Grand Marnier.  Stir to chill.  Top off with club soda.
